The best practice for managing pipelines is to keep them to a couple hundred prospects at most. If you have non-email contacts, you can import them into your People directory and add them to a pipeline as you find/update their email address. To do this, go to the Directory > People page and click the Import/Export button at the top right. This will add your LinkedIn contacts to your People directory instead of the pipeline.
