It really depends on the region and the market conditions. But, it's also important for founders to not lose control of the company at Series A because that creates financing risk. (Many later stage investors will not invest in companies with bad cap-tables).

Though this varies widely, each investment round would sell between 10% and 25% of the company. Best practice is to model the capital journey, tools like this one from Foresight https://foresight.is/cap-table/ are recommended
